Mike's birch spoon
Mike Craig started this birch ladle on our spooncarving course in 2007. The blank had some interesting curves in it, but was very difficult to split, breaking an axe handle in the process. I'm pleased to say that the end result is worth it and this is a lovely curvy spoon, beginning to gain that wonderful patina of use. The axe has a new handle now!
